According to the Internet Advertising Revenue Report conducted by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) for 2012, the ad revenues in the USA that come through the Internet increased by 15% compared to the numbers from 2011. The report was made based on data sent directly by companies that sell advertising online.
An amazing $36.6 billion in revenue came from mobile, search, and digital video ads, were recorded for 2012. According to the report, the mobile ad revenue showed an enormous growth as the numbers show the revenue doubled from last year with total of $3.44 billion dollars. Mobile ad revenue makes 9% of the overall revenue. Experts are saying that these numbers are expected to double again in 2013, reaching an amount of $7.29 billion. This increase in the numbers was expected as the sale of smartphones is in constant rise with each year that comes.
Even though mobile ad revenue showed a large growth compared to other years, the largest amount of revenue still comes from search ads where Google dominates. Search revenue has not changed compared to the numbers last year, with $16.9 billion. Google ad revenue is nearly half of all Internet revenue for 2012. The search ad revenue makes 47% of all online revenue. Together with Facebook, Google currently dominates the market of online advertising.
