The fast growing popularity of Instagram, which has passes its 100 million user so far, has made its founders Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger take further steps into expanding the application to future potential partnerships. The first step was taking Emily White, Facebook's Director of Mobile Partnerships and making her Director of Operations at Instagram. White is making this internal move from Facebook to Instagram to work with its co-founders on improving the product in total.
Emily White has an excellent background working with super brands, like Facebook and Google. Before joining the Facebook team, she used to work for Google where she helped develop Google AsWords. White joined Google when the company consisted of just 200 people and left it numbering 22 thousand, which says a lot for her contribution to the company's growth.
She joined the Facebook team in 2010, where she was Director of Local Partnerships and then moved onto becoming Director of Mobile Partnerships. Her primary goal was to put the Facebook application on every device possible – latest count was 2,500 devices so far.
Instagram has made a great move by taking Emily White into their team. Her special knowledge and experience with advertisement partnerships and business operations will surely contribute to the expand of the application in the virtual world, with increase in revenue, popularity and future success.
