Absolute Link

An absolute link is a link that contains the full URL. It also provides the specific location of a document or file on the Web. This includes information on which protocol to use, either HTTP or FTP, the domain name of the site where the file is located, the directory or subdirectory of the domain and the file name.

An example of an absolute link is as following: <a href="http://www.domain.com/pagename.html">anchor text</a>
