Google Play

Google Play is the equivalent to Apple's App Store. It is a digital entertainment hub where users can purchase and download different applications, media, content etc. Google Play is also known as the Android Market. Google Play offers users a variety of content such as: music, books, movies, applications and games. It is available for all Android smartphones and gadgets. By April 2013, Google Play has registered to have around 850,000 applications available. Since it was first introduced in 2008 as the Android Market, more than 40 billion downloads have been made through Google Play.

The applications on Google Play can be either purchased or are free and can be downloaded directly to an Android or Google TV device.
