How to Install the Pinterest "Pin It" Button in WordPress

Pinterest has become a sharing hub for collectors, Internet pickers, fun fact sharers, and Internet marketers. If your website offers something unique, the Pin It button is a great way to increase your social media presence. Similar to our How to Install The Facebook Like Button in WordPress post, we prefer to avoid plugins. If you just want to use the WordPress version of the code, jump straight to Step 3.
Pinterest "Pin It" Widget
1. Visit Pinterest webmaster goodies page
2. Scroll to the "Pin It Button for Web Sites" section
Select the type of button you want to use on your website – horizontal or vertical. The rest of the text boxes will be replaced with WordPress variables so you can enter anything into the remaining fields.
3. Copy the code snippets and apply the WordPress variables
This part is a lot easier then it sounds. The hardest part is pulling the featured image into a variable for the button. Good thing we included all the code below:
4. Apply the WordPress Pinterest code to the template
Congratulations! Pinterest "Pin It" Button widget is all setup.
