Matt Cutts: No More PageRank Updates This Year
Posted: October 8, 2013 by Alex Chan
If you wondered whether the Google Toolbar PageRank is dead or not, the answer is kind of. Or as Google's head of search spam Matt Cutts indicated the other day, it's not likely that we'll see any updates before the end of the year.
In response to Niels Bosch's question on Twitter, if we should expect an update to PageRank before 2014, Matt Cutts tweeted, "I would be surprised if that happened."
Having considered that it has been 8 months since the last Google Toolbar PageRank update, it's safe to say PageRank is finally dead, at least the Toolbar PageRank. Our guess is that Google will do an update in 2014 and then they will let it quietly go away for good.
The same thing can be concluded from what Cutts said in his last video regarding the Google Toolbar PageRank. The video is available above.
