Microsoft Surface Promo: "Give" Your iPad For A Surface
Posted: September 16, 2013 by Emily Brown
In a most recent promotion for their latest Windows 8-powered Surface tablet, Microsoft offers iPad owners a $200 trade-in discount if they hand over their old iPad.
They will accept "gently used" iPad 2, iPad 3 or iPad 4 tablets, and in return give a minimum of $200 US that can be used both against a Surface RT or Surface Pro. But while the main purpose behind this trade-in program is to push the Surface Pro and Surface RT, Microsoft has also made it possible for users to spend their gift cards on literally anything in the Microsoft Store. And yes, the trade can only happen in Microsoft Stores across the US and Canada, and not online, until 27 October 2013. Microsoft is yet to announce whether the deal will be extended to Australia or not.
Before you head to Microsoft's nearest store, have in mind that their fresh devices, Surface RT and Pro, will start selling at $349 and $799, respectively. The 16GB version of the iPad 2 is listed between $US250 and $US300 on the US version of eBay.
The tech giant is set to unveil the next generation of Surface tablets on September 23.
