After six years of a strict tradition in releasing only one smartphone annually, Apple has chosen to release two iPhones this September. The long awaited iPhone 5S is due mid-September this year, or September 18 to be more precise. The date will mark 100 days from the release of the new iOS7. The iPhone S5 will have some improved specifications compared to its predecessor in terms of camera, battery, and processor as well as new technologies which Apple has kept top secret.
Some speculate the extra release may be either an iPhone Mini or iPhone 6. According to images circling around the Internet, the cheaper iPhone will be smaller and available in several bright colors like yellow, pink and green. While a cheaper iPhone has not been confirmed, market research has shown that a less premium version of the iPhone will be able to reach a broader audience.
According to Apple, a cheaper iPhone can focus on target markets like China and India. China has the largest telecommunication market in the world with 700 million users and Apple has been trying to make a deal with China Mobile Ltd. to start selling the new iPhone 6 in September.
