The body of Rhex is entirely sealed and compact allowing the robot to be fully functional in wet weather. The waterproof body also allows this robot to swim. The Rhex is controlled by a remote control that has a range of 700 meters. It also has front and back view cameras with lights that provide better visibility dark terrain.
Since the Rhex demonstrated excellent terrain performances, the US Government has agreed to take the robot for some additional independent testing.
