Samsung has announced the launch of Galaxy S4 Zoom and they literally stole Nokia's five minutes of fame. The Galaxy S4 Zoom is a new hybrid smartphone that will operate on the latest Windows mobile operating system. Nokia was supposed to be the first to use the new version of the OS, but Samsung had other plans.
The Galaxy S4 Zoom camera has a 10X optical zoom lens and the smartphone looks exactly like a camera from the back. From the front, the S4 Zoom looks like a regular Samsung S4 device. Besides the 10X zoom, it will be equipped with a 16 Mega Pixel CMOS Sensor, Optical Image Stabilizer and a Xenon Flash. The S4 Zoom has a feature called "Zoom Ring" which allows users to take an image and send it via MMS without ending the call. The phone also has a feature called "Photo Suggest" that connects the users to libraries of images.
From the inside, the Galaxy S4 Zoom is an average phone compared to others from its family. It has a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and a 4.3″ qHD sAMOLED screen. The phone has a 1.5 GB of RAM and 8GB memory that can be upgraded with an external memory card. The battery on this device is 2,330 mAh.
This announcement came as a direct challenge to Nokia and their rumored launch of the PureView Lumia. Samsung's recent legal disputes with Apple have taken their toll on the Galaxy series and it's rumored that this is an effort to take a break from the recent lawsuits.
