Samsung To Launch Curved Display Smartphone In October

In an attempt to stay ahead of the game, Samsung has announced that their next smartphone will feature a curved display. The launch of this "revolutionary" gadget is slated to happen next month.
"We plan to introduce a smartphone with a curved display in October," said Samsung's mobile business head of strategic marketing D.J. Lee at the launching event in Seol. The big news was revealed in the midst of Samsung's global launch for their Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear smartwatch.
Even though no further details were announced, curved displays are expected to be the 'next big thing' in tech (alongside wearable technology), just as smartphones are today.
The "arched" displays are still at an early stage in screen evolution, i.e., shifting to foldable but not flexible, organic light-emitting diode (OLED) panels for the display. However, this futuristic design will still "differentiate" the device from Samsung's existing smartphone family. Actually, the curved-screen smartphones may arrive with some other new additions like the ISOCELL camera sensor, which will come as a great chance to radically change the high-end smartphone market.
The world's largest smartphone maker first showed off a prototype flexible screen at the Consumer Electronics Show back in 2011. Two years later, they are ready to launch the finished product.
