Japan now holds two titles in the to add to their list of technical bragging rights – The number one country to provide smartphone users with the fastest Internet access, and also the country with the fastest Internet ever.
So-net Entertainment, an Internet Service Provider backed up by Sony, introduced Nuro – the fastest fiber Internet service ever developed. Nuro reaches an amazing download speed of 2Gbps which compared to the average Internet connection that most people have at home looks like "Warp Speed". Even Google, and its Google Fiber with 1Gbps seem slow compared to the miracle of Japan.
With a download speed 13 times faster than the fastest Internet in the USA, Nuro sounds like it would cost a small fortune to use. For a mere $51 USD monthly rate, people in Tokyo and 6 surrounding prefectures can own Nuro. The monthly rate is breadcrumbs compared to the possibilities it will provide. When compared to worldwide rates, this is generally cheap. The installation fee on the other hand, is much higher. It will cost $535 USD to install this high-speed Internet. When compared to some Internet rates for high-speed bandwidth costs in the US, this is a small investment.
