Posted: December 12, 2013 by Alex Chan
When using smartphones on a daily basis, one can't help but wonder – Which of them is the most practical but also with the most groundbreaking features? With the year coming to an end, we wanted to do a countdown of the most innovative smartphones launched in 2013, as compiled by the Business Insider. The ranking goes as follows:
10. iPhone 5S
The iPhone 5S is very similar to the iPhone 5. However, the 5S has a faster processor and a fingerprint sensor which allows you to unlock your phone without providing a pass code.
9. BlackBerry Q10
Blackberry is considered to be the best phone-making company for keyboards, and the Q10 model is the best to prove it.
8. Sony Xperia Z
The Xperia Z is a tough nut to crack, but it is not unbreakable. This Sony smartphone can also endure a few minutes under water.
7. Nokia Lumia 1020
The best asset of this smartphone is the fantastic camera, so you can always capture your favorite moments in photos and videos.
6. Samsung Galaxy S4
For some users, this smartphone took it too far with the features. However, the Samsung Galaxy S4 offers some brilliant camera modes together with an ability to keep the screen on by solely looking at it.
5. Samsung's Galaxy Note III
The Samsung phablet is an excellent purchase for people who love gigantic screen phones.
4. Moto X
The Motorola's Moto X allows you to customize your smartphone by using various accessories and extras, hence giving it a new face.
3. LG G2
The LG G2 boasts with its 5.2-inch astonishing display that has a very narrow border, making it the most impressive smartphone at No. 3.
2. Nexus 5
Google's smartphone is a great bargain (especially if you buy it unlocked). The Nexus 5 can also receive software updates straight from Google.
1. HTC One
The HTC One smartphone wins the first place of our ranking list for its elegant looks. The metal hardware design gives this machine a luxurious touch that other smartphones simply lack.
The bottom line with smartphones is really what you're looking for as the user. Do you need something waterproof? Samsung has you covered. Accessories, try the Moto X. The good news is you can pretty much do all your research online before going into the store so the real trick is just searching for one that fits. Personally, I've switched to the iPhone recently for the size, but Androids have moved well ahead in the popularity rankings. Try them all, like a Pokemon, but more useful.
