Top 5 Affordable Tablets
Posted: August 13, 2013 by Maja Johnson
The iPad 4 is the most popular tablet on the market but its price range is still way too high for everyday customers. Luckily, some companies offer a wide variety of tablets that are just as good and are offered at a more reasonable price. Here are the top 5 tablets currently available on the market, starting from the lowest price:
5. Google Nexus 7, price from $230
The Google Nexus 7 has a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor, a 7-inch HD display with 1920 x 1200 pixels, and it is the first tablet ever to run on the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS. Unfortunately, the tablet does not have a microSD card slot or rear camera. It comes in two versions, one with 16GB and other with 32GB memory. So far, this tablet is reviewed as the best budget tablet for 2013.
4. Acer Iconia A210, price from $310
This tablet is also one of the most affordable tablets in the market. The 10-inch LCD screen has a 1280×800 pixel resolution. Unlike the Google Nexus 7, this tablet has a microSD card slot, allowing users to upgrade its memory capacity. The Iconia also runs on the Android Jelly Bean operating system, has a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, WiFi, and Bluetooth.
3. Toshiba AT200, price from $340
A year ago, Toshiba advertised their AT200 tablet as the thinnest tablet on the market. This tablet is only 7.7mm, but it no longer holds the position as the world's thinnest tablet. The AT200 runs the Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM. The screen is 10in wide, with 1280 x 800 pixel resolution and a 2MP camera on the front side. The back camera is 5MP which makes it perfect for capturing HD images and videos.
2. Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, price from $380
Samsung is the leader in the smartphone market and their tablets are just as popular. The Galaxy tab is equipped with a 1GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and comes in a 16GB and 32Gb version. The 8.9 inches LCD screen on this tablet comes with a 1280×800 resolution. It also has a 3MP camera on the back, and a 2MP on the front.
1. iPad Mini, price from $400
The iPad Mini is a miniature version of the iPad 2, or a larger iPod Touch. The Mini was never meant to be an alternative to a laptop and more of a virtual assistant that allows people to read online books, browse the Internet, and play games. It operates on the iOS 6 and it comes with a higher price than other 7-inch tablets. The Mini has an A5 processor and a 7.9-inch, non-Retina display. For all Apple fans that want to buy a good tablet for an affordable price, the iPad Mini is just perfect.
